The Winged Kingom of Aves versus the Wolf Pack

The thunder of Behemoths, the twang of bowfire, and the incoherent chanting of the arcane arts was heard across the fields of Cincinnati this weekend, as "HordesParty'06" made itself known. This annual Hordes of the Things tournament had 10 players show with some very impressive and well-painted armies in hand.

As before, players played as many rounds as they were able to get in before time was called (the tournament itself lasted a little over three hours), and the winner was determined by comparing win/loss records, points from elements destroyed, strongholds occupied and generals captured.

Overall, players managed to get four rounds in, with several going a full five. John and Zack Meunier were only able to stay for the first two rounds, thus not meeting the three-round prize requirement, but both enjoyed the time they were there.

Orcs against Bugs, oh my!

A big congratulations goes out to Jenny Torbett, whose Hobbits swept the field with only a single loss to win the day. With the best turnout to date, it's clear that this casual format will be around for quite some time.
