HordesParty '05
The Charles A. Brigham Jr. Masonic Temple - Cincinnati, OH
Saturday, June 18, 2005

The thunder of Behemoths, the twang of bowfire, and the incoherent chanting of the arcane arts was heard across the fields of Cincinnati this weekend, as "HordesParty'05" made itself known. This annual Hordes of the Things tournament had 8 players show with some very impressive and well-painted armies in hand.

Some of the best painted armies I've seen in a while were represented, and the games all seemed to be challenging and fun for those involved. Of special note were two new Lilliputian armies, Jim Williams' "Grand Battery of Kleinlund" with its impressive 4 Artillery barrage, and Jack Shaw's "Muenchausen 18th Century" with a fantastic mounted Muenchausen riding atop a cannonball

As before, players played as many rounds as they were able to get in before time was called (the tournament itself lasted a little over three hours), and the winner was determined by comparing win/loss records, points from elements destroyed, strongholds occupied and generals captured.
